Location: Easton, PA

Client: County of Northampton

Date Completed: 2011

Our team was hired to renovate and restore the historic Northampton County Courthouse, the oldest portion of the county’s Government Center, which was constructed in multiple campaigns during 1861, 1888, and 1909. The original proposal called for the replacement of all 163 windows, including the grand monumental windows, roof repairs, gutter and downspouts repairs, and scattered facade repairs. Artefact suggested that restoring the windows rather than replacing them would achieve both material and energy savings. Upon project completion, we were able to save all of the original windows at half the cost of new replacement windows. We were able to maintain the aesthetic and material integrity of the historic windows, and our restoration continues to provide energy savings in addition to the bottom-line savings achieved during the project.
